How to copy documents?
- Ensure that you have unused plain white paper stacked in the paper tray.
- Now, place the original document print side up on the automatic document feeder (ADF) or print side down on the scanner glass.
- Touch the Copy button listed on the printer’s control panel display screen.
- To specify the number of copies, scroll up and down.
- From the options listed, choose White or Black to start the copy process.

Scan to a Computer:
Before scanning to a computer, users must make sure that the option is enabled.
Windows: Go to the Scan section on your 123 HP Officejet Pro printer and then choose Manage Scan to Computer.
Macintosh (OS X): 123 HP Utitlity – – > Scan Settings – – > Scan to Computer – – > Enable Scan to Computer.
How to scan an original from the printer’s control panel?
- Place the original document print side down on the ADF or the scanner glass.
- Tap on Scan and then touch Computer.
- From the list of computers available, choose the one to which you want to scan to.
- Select the type of scan profile you want.
- Now, tap on Start Scan.
How to scan original from HP printer software (OS X)?
- Open the HP Scan which is located at the top-level of the hard-disk in the Applications/Hewlett-Packard folder.
- Select the type of scan profile you need.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to start the process.
How to scan an original from HP printer software (Windows)?
- Place your original documents print side up in the automatic document feeder or print side down on the scanner glass.
- Click Print, Scan & Fax option in the HP printer software and then choose Scan a Document or Photo.
- From the shortcut menu, select the type of scan and the touch Scan.

Scan Using Webscan :
Webscan is a specialized feature of the EWS that will allow you to scan photos and documents from your HP printer to your computer using a web browser.
How to scan using Webscan?
- Place the original document print side up on the automatic document feeder or print side down on the scanner flass.
- Open EWS.
- Select the Settings option.
- Go to the Security section, choose Administrator Settings and then click OK.
- To enable Webscan, choose Webscan option.
- Choose Apply and then click OK.
- Go to the Scan tab, tap on Webscan in the left pane to change settings.
- Touch Start Scan.
Scanning Documents as Editable Text :
You can also turn your scan to editable text which will allow you to edit letters, newspaper clippings and other documents.

- Place the original document print side up on the automatic document feeder or print side down on the scanner glass.
- Go to the Print, Scan & Fix option under the Scan a Document or Photo in your HP printer software.
- From the list of options, choose the type of editable text you want to.

How to send a standard fax?
Users can send a single or multipage fax (in black and white or color) from the printer’s control panel.
- Place the original document print side down on the scanner glass or print side up on the ADF.
- Tap on Fax from the printer’s control panel display screen.
- Using the keypad, enter the fax number.
- Choose between Black and Color.
How to send a standard fax from the computer (Windows)?
- Open the document which you want to fax to.
- Click the File menu on your software, and then choose the Print option.
- On the Name list, choose the printer which bears ‘fax’ in the name.
- To change the fax settings, click on the button that opens the Properties box. (Properties may also be called as Options, Printer Setup, Printer or Preferences.)
- Once you have made necessary changes, click OK.
- Now, select OK or Print.
- Enter the recipients fax number; make any last minute changes and the select Send Fax.

- Tap on Black or Color, when you are all set to send the fax.
How to send fax using monitor dialing?
- Place the original document print side up on the automatic document feeder or print side down on the scanner glass.
- Click on Fax from the printer’s control panel display screen.
- Tap on Black or Color option.
- If you have placed the document in the ADF, you will hear a dial tone.
- If you have placed it in the scanner glass, then choose Fax from scanner glass.
- Once you hear the dial tone, enter the recipients number by using the keypad on printer’s control panel.
- Follow the instructions displayed on screen.
How to send a fax from memory?
- Place the original document print side down on the automatic document feeder.
- From the list of options available on the printer’s control panel, tap on Fax.
- Using the keypad, choose Speed Dial or Call history to choose a dialled or received number.
- Click on Black or Color.
Now, the printer will scan the original documents to memory and will send it to the recipient when it is available.
